Celebrate World Toilet Day 19 November, 2009

check out a brief history of toilets http://su.pr/241510

The Latrina is a marble bench with several holes in it and a stream of water taking away,what-ever falls into the small holes......and people were sitting next to each other without any cabins......they could actually talk with plenty of people about lots of horses...

These pictures were taken in the Amber Fort, Jaipur INDIA Mogul toilets

Below is a toilet in France on the outside of the wall and still functional with a pile of hay on the ground

You can see that this toilet (below) is only supported by on piece of wood. That's what I call dangerous living.

The toilettes below is my favorite. If you look closely or enlarge the photo you will see that one of the supports is missing from the toilette. This is a dangerous place to be if you are a little prosperous.

Still functional, but now covered.

This was stil in use with a pile of sraw on the ground below.

These are on the wall of the fortified city at Aigue Mort.

NAWWWWW!

And you are concerned about birds.

Above and below are found in Colmar: modified and modern, but above the stream. They were called the garderobes.

Below a modified modernized toilet in the Beaufortan above Albertville. Of course, it is above a stream. All of these seem to be above a stream or hanging off the town wall.
